Training Videos

Writen by Jason Gluckman

Time is money in business. The best advantage of a training video is that it is cost-effective. It gets across information in a shorter time than it would take for a person to actually deliver content and make sure the receiver understands it.

The company can hire one trainer and get his sessions recorded, instead of having a training team at each office. It will also make sure that each employee of the organization gets the same training and same information without any distortions that may develop due to the different communication skills of different trainers.

The employee can watch the video at his leisure, watch it repeatedly and thoroughly understand the message that his employer wants to convey to him. He gets time to think on each point before he moves on to the next, unlike a live training session where the speaker may have moved several points ahead before the listener can grasp the first point.

Training videos do exactly what they promise to do. They train you in something by showing video demonstrations with the aim of making you an expert at doing something. These are largely used by corporate firms and companies for staff training and development. This works to the advantage to a large company which has employees in many different countries and new employees joining every day. For such large multi-nationals, it is impossible to bear the expenses of training sessions for each employee or to have trainers sent to different parts of the world on a regular basis.

Training videos are sometimes made specifically for filming purposes, or companies record training sessions and seminars and send them over to their employees who were unable to attend these sessions. They are sent as CDs or DVDs and contain instructional material for new members of the staff. They may also contain refresher programs and management development programs for older employees. Training videos can also be instructions about new schemes and policies of the company.

Training videos are not just restricted to companies and their employees. They are also used in training people on individual and community safety, in police academies and for a variety of other purposes that will take too much money and time if they were done face-to-face.
